SPIKE 19

This is the robot that I designed as Head of Robot Design and Manufacturing on FRC Robotics Team 293. The robot’s objective was to pick up a large orange ball and a flat round plate and place them into goals up to ten feet tall. Robots could also ascend onto platforms for more points. Due to the initial size limits, the robot was designed to have a three-stage telescoping “mast” in the center, actuated by a pneumatic piston and two lead screws. The design also featured an articulating gripper, and motorized stilts to ascend onto the platform.
